Bharatanatyam
Bharatanatyam is one of the oldest and most revered classical dance forms of India, originating from the temples of Tamil Nadu. Known for its intricate footwork, graceful hand gestures (mudras), and expressive facial expressions, Bharatanatyam is a beautiful blend of devotion, rhythm, and storytelling. It is traditionally performed to Carnatic music and is steeped in the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of India. At our dance school, we strive to preserve and impart this ancient art form with authenticity, ensuring each student experiences the joy and discipline that Bharatanatyam brings to life
Mohiniyattam
Mohiniyattam, often referred to as the “dance of the enchantress,” is a graceful classical dance form from the southern state of Kerala, India. Characterized by its elegant and fluid movements, Mohiniyattam is a dance of feminine grace and beauty, with a focus on delicate footwork and subtle expressions. Traditionally performed by women, this dance is deeply connected to the lyrical music of Kerala, often accompanied by soothing rhythms and classical instruments. At our dance school, we teach Mohiniyattam with a deep respect for its rich tradition, helping students to connect with the art’s serene and enchanting essence.

Carnatic music
Carnatic music is a revered classical music tradition from South India, known for its intricate rhythms, melodic richness, and deep spiritual essence. Rooted in ancient Indian scriptures and enriched over centuries, Carnatic music combines vocal and instrumental compositions with a strong emphasis on improvisation. It serves as a vital accompaniment to classical dance forms like Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam, creating a harmonious blend of melody and movement. At our dance school, we emphasize the importance of understanding Carnatic music, as it is essential for mastering the rhythm and grace of Indian classical dance, allowing students to connect deeply with both the music and the dance.
TESTIMONIALS
What our Students say?
My dream of becoming a dance teacher blossomed at Nadanam School of Dance. Kalamandalam Syla is not just a Bharatanatyam teacher but also a great mentor to me. She helped me greatly in improving my skills. I will always cherish the memories of learning and teaching with her for two and a half years.

Nadanam has always been a place of growth for me. The environment that Kalamandalam Syla Ma'am and everyone in the dance community provided inspired me to take up Mohiniyattam alongside Bharatanatyam. Many years have passed, and I still carry the values that Nadanam instilled in me, which have made me not just a better dancer, but a better person as well.

Syla teacher is such an inspiration for beginners like me. With limitations of online classes, she is so patient in observing and correcting every single dance step. I would highly recommend her to anyone who loves dancing, be it remote or in class. Thank you so much Syla teacher for your consistent support in helping to nurture the dancer in me.

. When I think of the Nadanam School of Arts, one line comes to mind: 'Forget your troubles and dance.' Nadanam School of Arts is a community of passionate dancers who enjoy and cherish every moment with the institute and our beloved Guru, Kalamandalam Syla Salish, who truly follows and respects the depth and breadth of Indian classical dance.
